Iva’s Granddaughters was founded in 2020 with the dream of helping Niagara, female entrepreneurs make their businesses thrive. The following businesses have been impacted through funding, mentoring, brainstorming, etc.Socks and Snacks
Our non-profit, Socks and Snacks, aims to support the unhoused and those in need in Niagara Falls. Our mission is to put “love into action”, as we honour the life and legacy of our late mother, Rosanna, through our work. We are deeply grateful to have connected with Jackie and all of the amazing founders of Iva’s granddaughters. With their generous advice, support and expertise, we have experienced tremendous growth. We are so grateful to be able to now provide more services to our clients, including delicious hot meals multiple times a month. The founding members of Iva’s have each donated needed items to fill our outreach bags and they have enthusiastically reached out to organizations within our community to collect even more items for the people we serve. Furthermore, these wonderful ladies have used their hands and hearts to volunteer with us in our outreach work, and they have connected us to many other volunteers through great programs, such as MedPlus. We are also so grateful for their expertise in connecting us with a wonderful lawyer and insurance company who assisted us in making our outreach more safe for our clients, our volunteers and ourselves. We can honestly say we wouldn’t be growing nearly as effectively, efficiently and safely if we hadn’t connected with Iva’s Granddaughters. We will be forever grateful to them for the tremendous growth and support we have experienced since joining the family!
Commis Culinary is a commercial kitchen for rent in St. Catharines founded by Caitlin Bermuhler. Commis has added a brick & mortar shop Bushel & Peck. Iva’s has helped with securing her building and Beth has helped her by mentoring and giving advice on retail, business planning, and budgeting. Cait has seen huge successes, winning 2 major grants in 2020.
Jess is co-owner of Stoke Deli Bar. She has extensive kitchen experience and has taken Stoke Wood Fire Cooking on the road with her wife Cait to local venues.
